Editorial Standards
Our goal is useful, specific and verifiable hose guidance — not a parade of “best” products that all somehow receive glowing reviews.
Evidence hierarchy
We prefer standards bodies, regulators, official manufacturer documentation and direct measurements. Retailer listings and customer reviews can identify questions or recurring complaints but are not treated as proof of technical causes.
Hands-on testing
We do not say “we tested” unless the product was actually tested for the article and the method is described. Future hands-on hose reviews should include unpacking behaviour, lay-flat behaviour, first-loop behaviour, directional reversals, leaks, measured flow and storage observations.
Product claims
Manufacturer language is attributed as a claim unless independently verified. “Kink-free,” “all weather,” “professional,” “heavy duty” and origin claims are not silently converted into editorial conclusions.
Country of origin
We quote exact wording and distinguish manufacturing, assembly, component sourcing, headquarters and shipping location. We do not infer hidden sourcing from product quality.
Advertising and affiliate relationships
Advertising does not buy a positive review or placement. If affiliate links are used in the future, they will be disclosed. At launch, the site is designed for display advertising and does not require affiliate links.
Corrections and updates
Material errors are corrected when identified. Pages with time-sensitive regulatory or product information should show an update date and link to primary sources where practical.
